The University has
approximately 26,000 enrolments, including over 7,400 international
students. Life at USQ exposes you to a wide variety of multicultural influences,
the student body includes Australian and international students from more than
120 nationalities. USQ has campuses in Toowoomba, Hervey
Bay, Springfield and a centre in Bretten
(Germany).
USQ was awarded the
Commonwealth of Learning Award of Excellence for Institutional Achievement at
the third Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning in July 2004 and was the Joint
Winner of the Good Universities Guides' University of the Year in 2000 and
2001.
USQ has five faculties
including Arts, Business, Education, Engineering and Surveying, and Sciences.
Programs are offered at a number of
levels including: Certificate, Diploma, Associate Diploma, Associate Degree,
Bachelor Degree, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters, and Doctorate.
English Language and University Foundation Studies programs are also available
for international students.
The University has
strong research programs
in such areas as biotechnology, agricultural and environmental engineering,
sustainable land use, the design and development of fibre composites, numerical
modelling and simulation, e-business and e-commerce, school leadership,
children's literacy, theatre studies, literature and regional history. It is
renowned for its performing
and visual arts programs and is a world
leader in online learning technologies and pedagogy.
